Adventure Engagement in Cades Cove - Anne + Chris

These two met through a co-worker when Chris moved to Knoxville, and their first encounter was with Anne's family on Thanksgiving. A little later after their friendship blossomed, they started dating, and now, Anne and Chris are on their biggest adventure yet together to becoming Mr. and Mrs. Hatfield.

A self-proclaimed outdoorsy couple, these two enjoy being in the mountains and traveling with one another. Chris proposed to Anne while on a trip to Colorado with their friends over New Year's Eve weekend, and they knew that the national park would serve as the perfect sentimental location for their fun engagement session back home.

As we initially met Anne and Chris  outside of the loop entrance to Cade's Cove, we were immediately impressed that they brought along his Land Rover as a prop for their session.  Since Anne is basically a wildlife expert (even being able to identify birds by their call) and Chris's first love is the national parks, we knew that our time with them was going to be amazing.  The mountains had to be featured , and we loved that they incorporated not only the perfect camping outfits to express their interests but also  a picnic basket filled with everything one would need for a romantic date exploring the Cove.  We were able to capture some gorgeous shots of the two at sunset dancing, flirting, and laughing, and we appreciate that they followed our advice to be casual but also dress it up a bit too. Utter perfection!

This is a session that we will never forget because it was truly all about the couple's hobbies and love for nature-- and of course each other. We're traveling to The Great Smoky Mountains and Cade's Cove today with this mountainside engagement. Enjoy!

Jason Messing

Who are we? We are Jason and Staci Messing, a husband and wife photography team based in Knoxville, Tennessee. We met in 2007, starting dating in 2008, and have been together ever since. We were married at the Capitol Theatre in Maryville in 2012, and our special day actually led to our interest in photography and inspired us to pursue our dream of owning our own business.  (See our wedding story here!)  Our family team grew when we had our sweet son, Jaden, in 2014, and he's already reviewing our photos for us.

What's our style? The adjectives we always used to describe our photography style are light, airy, natural and whimsical. We would say our job is to capture all the amazing moments of your big day so that you have a tangible memory of the people, details, and surroundings that make your wedding special. We essentially want your day to look like a fairy tale, and it's all about making even the ordinary exceptional by photographing meaningful and candid moments.

What about the name? Jason's business actually started as one centered around music production and video editing.  Juicebeats, his nickname as a producer and rapper, inspired our company name, originally Juicebeats Productions. In 2013, the business evolved into one focused on a new creative outlet, photography, and it was only natural that Staci jumped on board in late 2014 as the 2nd shooter/photographer assistant. We debated a name change (for 12 seconds) until we realized that Juicebeats is unique, memorable, and just us.
