Amanda and Billy's Sunrise Engagment Shoot

We met up with this adventurous couple, Billy and Amanda, at 6:30 am in Sequoyah Park. Even though the overcast day never provided us with the true sunrise we were looking for, we were so thrilled to mix up our normal routine with a daybreak shoot. As soon as we heard their story, we knew we would be starting their engagement session here as this is quite a meaningful location that the two frequent. This is also why we included the adorable cell phone pictures depicting their actual engagement in the same spot during our shoot.

Everything about this session celebrated the lives of these two from the shots cuddling on the quilt (which Billy and Amanda often do together) to the photos taken at Old City Java (a place that they often go for their caffeine fix). Billy shared with us that when the visit the coffee shop, he writes personalized messages on Amanda's cup, so we really wanted to incorporate that special sentiment of the two composing sweet messages for each other.

We so enjoyed spending time with these two love birds, and we are even more excited to capture their big day at Nolichucky Vineyard in October. Enjoy this morning engagement session of an amazing couple, Amanda and Billy.

Jason Messing

Who are we? We are Jason and Staci Messing, a husband and wife photography team based in Knoxville, Tennessee. We met in 2007, starting dating in 2008, and have been together ever since. We were married at the Capitol Theatre in Maryville in 2012, and our special day actually led to our interest in photography and inspired us to pursue our dream of owning our own business.  (See our wedding story here!)  Our family team grew when we had our sweet son, Jaden, in 2014, and he's already reviewing our photos for us.

What's our style? The adjectives we always used to describe our photography style are light, airy, natural and whimsical. We would say our job is to capture all the amazing moments of your big day so that you have a tangible memory of the people, details, and surroundings that make your wedding special. We essentially want your day to look like a fairy tale, and it's all about making even the ordinary exceptional by photographing meaningful and candid moments.

What about the name? Jason's business actually started as one centered around music production and video editing.  Juicebeats, his nickname as a producer and rapper, inspired our company name, originally Juicebeats Productions. In 2013, the business evolved into one focused on a new creative outlet, photography, and it was only natural that Staci jumped on board in late 2014 as the 2nd shooter/photographer assistant. We debated a name change (for 12 seconds) until we realized that Juicebeats is unique, memorable, and just us.
