The Carriage House Wedding - Kendall + Nathan
A stylish bride, a dapper groom, and gorgeous shades of blush, gold, and ivory came together for Kendall and Nathan's summer wedding. It was an extremely hot day, but these two warmed it up even more strolling among the green fields of their venue and breaking it down on the dance floor with their friends and family. This couple completely rocked their engagement, and Kendall stunned us at her bridal session. Throughout our interactions with this couple, though, we were most impressed by their honesty with us and one another and just how darn fun they were. They may have started a little rocky on their first meeting in college (and we loved hearing this hilarious story), but these two truly are destined for a happy ending.
Both Kendall's bridal session and the couple's wedding day took place at this Jefferson City venue, The Carriage House. True to its name, this venue features a huge carriage house building with an oversized outdoor porch (perfect for dancing under the stars or admiring the amazing views) and beautiful chandelier lighting inside. A setting with green pastures and rolling hills and a picturesque white fence make up the surroundings of The Carriage House, and the stone path at ceremony site for Kendall and Nathan features a pristine arbor and perfectly manicured red blooms in the shape of a heart. We appreciate the attention paid to these details, and this venue is nothing short of elegant.
These two were surrounded by love and support throughout their day. Emotional first looks with her Kendall's bridesmaids and father convey this through the photos, but it was a heartfelt toast by Kendall's sister at the reception that really stressed just how much this beautiful couple is loved. Kendall and Nathan's wedding was one we were looking forward to all year, and today, we are thrilled to share it with you.

The Standard Knoxville Wedding - Kimmie + Zac
"Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile." Franklin P. Jones
When we capture a couple's wedding day, one of our favorite aspects of the editing process is just looking through the photos initially to see the story of the day. As we made our way through these images the first, second, and subsequent times, we've always had the same reaction; Kimmie and Zac's wedding was one of the most clear representations of love and raw emotion that we have ever seen. As we view the many tearful moments from their wedding, we are immediately brought back to the overwhelming joy of this day not only among the couple but also everyone involved in this celebration of Kimmie and Zac's love.
These lovebirds chose one of downtown Knoxville's coolest venues, The Standard, for their ceremony and reception. With exposed brick, natural light beaming through large skylights, and details original to the building, this event site offers a unique urban vibe . The bridal suite has become somewhat iconic in Knoxville, and some of our favorite photos with Kimmie and her girls were taken here as well as beautiful details of her dress . Although the indoor venue offers a reprieve from the summer heat, we love that there are some amazing places, like the rooftop patio we utilized for golden hour photos with the couple, to grab some shots outdoors. We've come to refer to the friends and family that stood beside them on their day as "the big, beautiful bridal party," and The Standard offers a large event space that could easily accommodate their 11 groomsmen, 11 bridesmaids, 4 flower girls and ring bearer.
We adored the unique choices that this couple made from Zac's blue checkered shirt to Kimmie's flawless two piece ivory gown and even the food (a taco bar and donut bar). Large, breathtaking flowers in Kimmie's bouquet with touches of burgundy mirrored in Zac's tie added pops of color, and we loved the incorporation of feminine floral crowns for the oh, too, adorable flower girls. The emotional first look and walk down the aisle made us melt, and we couldn't have been more honored to be part of this sweet couple's wedding. Enjoy these newly created memories as we share their joy with you today!

Heartland Meadows Wedding - Stephanie + Matthew
We feel so lucky and blessed to work with the best couples as we capture all the memories from their weddings. When it comes to being the sweetest, though, this couple takes the cake (and the donuts, too, in this case). Stephanie and Matt are truly some of the kindest, most down to earth people we have had the pleasure of getting to know along their adventure to the altar.
This couple chose Heartland Meadows for their venue, a beautiful East Tennessee location perfect for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies and receptions. Although the original plan was for the two to wed outside beneath the shade of a tree, the high risk for rain moved the ceremony into the barn with lovely wooden pews for seating. We know the bride, groom, and their guests appreciated that this alternative was available just in case, even though the rain miraculously held off until we finished Stephanie and Matthew's couple's photos. The most impressive aspect of this venue is the large reception barn with gorgeous wooden tables and a spacious dance floor to party the night away. The covered patio also provides additional seating as well as a place for guests to remain outdoors but also escape the summer heat, and the back patio was perfect for the oversized yard games the two brought along for their guests' entertainment.
One of the most important decisions for a wedding day is choosing the bridesmaids and groomsmen to stand beside you, as these friends and family become part of the entire process. We can't say enough about the amazing ladies and gents Stephanie and Matt were surrounded by on their wedding day. Despite the heat, the groomsmen played along with all of our requests without a single complaint, and Stephanie's girlfriends were by her side, helping her with every request and need throughout the day. It is, after all, the people that love the couple that help make the day so special and meaningful, and we were consistently impressed with how caring and fun this bridal party turned out to be.
These two planned the perfect day together, and we loved how involved Matt was throughout the process, even designing the invitations for guests himself. Heartfelt speeches, vintage place settings, and Duck Donuts were just a few of the detail highlights from the day, but it was the raw emotion evident from the first look to the last dance to the sparkler exit that made us fall so in love with the love in these images. We hope you enjoy these photos from Stephanie and Matt's summer wedding!

Rivershack Farm Wedding - Alisha + Evan
We've been part of Alisha and Evan's journey to Mr. and Mrs. for almost a year. From their romantic engagement in Cade's Cove last summer to Alisha's stunning bridal at Knoxville Botanical Gardens just weeks before their wedding, we knew that their ceremony and reception would be nothing less than amazing, and they definitely didn't disappoint.
Despite the intense heat with temps in the lower 90s on their wedding day, these two sizzled in these images captured at Rivershack Farm. A gorgeous home along the Holston River in North Knoxville, this venue features breathtaking views from atop a hill and a fabulous farmhouse with perfectly styled decor and cozy porches. The room used as the bridal suite was full of natural light and the perfect space for some getting ready photos of Alisha and her beautiful bridesmaids.
We've seen more and more brides moving towards the trend of incorporating a similar color pallette through the bridesmaids dresses but letting each lady choose her own dress in a variety of shades, which we love. This couple, however, took this individual touch even further with the groomsmen by giving each a bow tie for the wedding day that represented one of their interests or hobbies. Unique and individual touches like this make the wedding details even more meaningful and special.
Guests danced in the barn and dined on mismatched place settings under strings of globe lights and were treated to a delicious variety of cupcakes and favors of cinnamon candy courtesy of the bride's mother. It was a perfect evening riverside with Alisha and Evan, and we are beyond elated to share our friends' joy with you today.

Ijams Nature Center Wedding - Angela + Jarryd
Angela and Jarryd's beautiful spring wedding took us all over downtown Knoxville, beginning at the always iconic and charming Oliver Hotel. We love the windows covered with white shutters in the historic hotel just around the corner from Knoxville's main square, and we decided to do an indoor first look along the stairwells lit by natural light from the large windows. Angela chose a non-traditional Grecian inspired silver gown, and we adored the pops of bright pink in her invitations, flowers, and even her lipstick.
The intimate outdoor ceremony took place at Ijams Nature Center under the floral covered arbor in a self-described "low-key" ceremony surrounded by family. Ijams always feels like a forest getaway with lush greenery and secret nooks for romantic couple's photos. The two walked down the aisle together, which we thought was super unique and the perfect way to show their commitment to each other. These two were all smiles throughout the ceremony, despite the unseasonably warm day, and we loved how playful they were with one another as we asked them chat about their relationship during some sweet couple's shots.
The final leg of the wedding day took us to Ruth's Chris Steak House where the couple had their reception. With delicious food and a downtown vibe, Ruth's Chris also has an amazing terrace available for such events that overlooks the remainder of Volunteer Landing and the Tennessee River. Adorable popcorn favors with Tennessee shaped chocolates were gifts for guests, a perfect combo of a sweet and salty treat for favors.
These two were all about having a casual wedding that was family oriented, but their big day was uniquely Angela and Jarryd with non-traditional details and endearing interactions with one another. We are so glad that they chose us to capture these moments for them, and we wish them all the best as Mr. and Mrs.

Spence Cabin Wedding in The Great Smoky Mountains - Chelsea & Nick
The Smoky Mountains are the perfect place to escape for couples who love nature and a gorgeous mountain view. We think that is why so many choose to be married in the National Park and particularly at this quaint little pink piece of history, Spence Cabin in the Elkmont Historic District. The inside of the cabin features wooded walls for a very traditional feel, while just behind the cabin, located on the Little River, is the perfect riverside patio for a special event along the rolling waters. It's no wonder that our lovebirds, Chelsea and Nick, chose this charming cabin as the location for their intimate ceremony and the Appalachian Clubhouse just around the corner for their dinner reception, with amazing food from First Fruits Catering and an abundance of moonshine toasts.
Chelsea and Nick's first vacation together took place in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and they wanted to come full circle for their wedding day with close friends and family. Chelsea said about her love for Nick that "It's hard to describe...other than it's just the thing that has made the most sense to me ever. We are each others even keel, and it doesn't make sense that there was ever one without the other." We loved how these two looked at each other as we frolicked through the woods with them and even did a little climbing on the rocks waterside. With tons of smiles and a little bit of laughter, its undeniable seeing these two together that they are just meant to be.
This day was truly special not only because of the meaningful choice of location and because of the palpable joy you could feel throughout the day but also because Chelsea and Nick chose to keep it simple and to make their union and families the true focus. All of their loved ones contributed to the day with sentimental touches and noteworthy details. For example, Chelsea's mother made her belt for her gown and her veil and even arranged the flowers for the bouquet with the help of a few friends. The bride's earrings were her grandmother's, and the garter belonged to her mother when she was married (and her grandmother added the significant prayer knots for Chelsea). The officiant for the ceremony was Chelsea's brother, and one of the neatest touches was the wine for the reception made and bottled by the groom's mother, sister, and aunt. We loved that everyone seemed to play such an integral role in the union of these two, and this is what made the day such a memorable one.
