10 Things We Believe (And Why We’d Love to Capture Your Love Story)
We believe in many things as a couple. Here are just a few things we stand firm on:
1. Family comes first.
2. Taco Tuesday is a must (even if it sometimes happens on Wednesday or Thursday instead).
3. The best way to relax together is to binge watch a great show.
4. Kids are hilarious, and our three year old son keeps us laughing all the time while our 6 month old rolls across the room with her sweet smile.
5. We are blessed to have each other.
6. It's acceptable to put candy into pancakes (Butterfinger for me, Resee's for Jason, and mostly blue M&Ms for Jaden).
7. It's mandatory to burst into song randomly, and changing lyrics to fit the current situation is encouraged (Jaden, our son, sings his feelings all the time. La la la...we aren't supposed to be mean...la la la).
8. A perfectly clean house is not always a priority.
9. Pizza...this one doesn't need explaining.
10. Being outside can make everything better.
We also believe in capturing love, and one of our most important tasks as your photographers is to show who you are as a couple through our art. Photos are tangible memories, and we believe that you will value not only the images delivered by us but also the Juicebeats' experience that we can provide as a seasoned husband and wife team. Knoxville Botanical Gardens Engagement - Cory + Matthew
Knoxville Botanical Gardens is one of our favorite places in town to shoot, so we were thrilled when Cory and Matthew chose to do their engagement photos here. What made this session even better was their decision to incorporate what we’ve dubbed a prosecco picnic, where we captured some of our favorite shots of the couple sharing a drink on a plaid blanket. These two are super playful, and we spent much of our time with them laughing and listening to them tell stories of their first encounters to their blossoming relationship and eventually their decision to have a brunch wedding (heck yeah...marriage and mimosas) this Spring.
For a different vibe on the same day, we also traveled to downtown Knoxville where the two got cozy rooftop and incorporated some cute props and a wardrobe change. We encourage our couples to bring multiple looks, usually one dressy and one more casual for engagements, and we often encourage a setting for the engagement that provides a different background or vibe than what they will have on their wedding day.

The Mill and Mine Wedding in Downtown Knoxville - Kristina + Ben
The Mill and Mine is a one of a kind industrial venue located in the heart of Downtown Knoxville. With original brick walls, private spaces for getting ready, a covered patio with an adjoining lawn, and string bulb lighting in the indoor space, The Mill and Mine brings an urban vibe with all the amenities needed for a beautiful wedding. That’s why this was the perfect space for Kristina and Ben's ceremony and reception, both held in the large main event space.
Their ceremony was traditional and meaningful, as their home church worship leader served as the officiant, which was incredibly special for the two. Beautiful worship songs accompanied by guitar made their ceremony unique as all their guests joined in and sang along. They shared their vows and communion alongside a gorgeous wooden cross adorned with large florals that was built and decorated by Matthew Smith of Echelon Florist. It was the perfect backdrop for these two as they became husband and wife.
We utilized the expansive courtyard for most of the bridal party photos as well as the indoor spaces with sliding wooden doors and the outdoor metal wall, but we couldn’t resist taking the two on a stroll through the Gay Street area of downtown for some stunning sunset photos along the bridge. The one thing that we have always noticed about Kristina and Ben is their fun loving spirits, and that really came out at the reception, when it was revealed that Ben has some killer dance moves, much to our surprise and joy. Their reception even included a dance off of sorts between Ben and some of his groomsmen, but Kristina, a swimmer at Southern Illinois University where the two both attended college, had her team there as well to show off their skills.
The love between Kristina and Ben is evident to anyone who encounters them, and we were honored to capture all the memories from their fall wedding. Journey downtown with us today through these images. We are wishing a huge congratulations, again, to Mr. and Mrs. Patton.

Elkmont & Spence Cabin Smoky Mountain Engagement - Stephanie + Addison
One of the perks of having our permit to shoot in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is meeting people from all over the country who travel to Gatlinburg for vacation and ask us to capture some memories with them. Stephanie and Addison made the journey with their pup all the way from Dallas, and since this is still one of our favorite sessions in the Smokies, we wanted to highlight their beautiful engagement today.
This couple perfectly planned their wardrobe and fully embraced one of our tips for our sessions. We always suggest that couples bring two different looks, one that is dressy and another that is more casual. As we've posted photos of these two, everyone has raved over Stephanie's gold Badgley Mischka dress from Rent the Runway. We loved this sparkly floor length gown against the wooded backdrop of Elkmont.
As we embrace fall today, join us in the mountains with Stephanie and Addison who will be married soon in Texas. We wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!
The Sinks & Gatlinburg Engagement - Emily + James
Together for 8 years, these two lovebirds, Emily and James, started as high school sweethearts. Although they were long distance in college, they reunited in Knoxville where he just finished his masters and she landed a job as a sports reporter. Emily and James wanted a location similar to the setting of their proposal for their engagement session, so the obvious choice was the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with its mountain backdrop.
Emily and James saved every penny for five years, even rolling their own coins, to travel to Europe together after college. Little did Emily know that James had hidden an engagement ring in his favorite pair of socks within his backpack. One their first day in a picturesque town in Switzerland, the two hiked up a mountain where James popped the question, much to Emily's surprise as she cried a self-proclaimed ugly cry (and we love that she shared that detail with us; so genuine).
This couple climbed, danced, and practiced their ability to balance throughout this session, and we could tell that they were adventurous and down for anything. The location in these images, found along the bypass, was perfect to incorporate the flowing waters, wooded forest, and pretty rock formations characteristic of the park. Seriously, they are the most adorable couple, and we are thrilled to be part of their celebration of love at The Standard next spring. Congratulations to Emily and James!
Gay Street & Downtown Knoxville Engagement - Kayla + Derick

Sometimes, there are people that you meet that make you have an immediate emotional reaction. You can actually feel the spark between the two, and it is just so blatantly obvious that they are madly in love. This is how we felt about our first encounter with Kayla and Derick in downtown Knoxville. These two beautiful people didn't need much directing as they just naturally gravitate towards each other, and we were so thrilled to be able to capture their energy as a couple in these images.
Kayla and Derick met at Lee University when Derick decided to make some life changes and move to a new school. The two were instantly attracted to one another, but they initially only interacted on social media. Eventually, Derick asked for Kayla's number, and they spent their first date chatting over coffee. Each says they fell for one another that night through their smiles and laughs. Derick's insanely romantic proposal was a scavenger hunt set up for Kayla including her sister as a driver, a playlist of all of their songs, clues that led her to all the places that are part of their love story, and a go pro to record it all. So thoughtful and endearing!
This engagement session took place along Gay street in downtown Knoxville--beginning at the Gay street bridge, moving to the iconic Tennessee sign, and wrapping up in Krutch Park and the surrounding streets. We are beyond ecstatic to share this couple's photos with you today, and we can't wait for their summer wedding next year at Black Fox Farms. Join us in giving Kayla and Derick your best wishes!
