Knoxville Botanical Gardens Engagement - Kendall + Nathan

These two made the journey from Jefferson City to meet us at the always gorgeous Knoxville Botanical Gardens for this amazingly beautiful engagement. We hit it off with these two instantly, as we made a connection over their profession. Kendall is studying to become a teacher, and Nathan currently teaches history, which we truly respect and admire (as Jason is the son of a teacher and I'm a former teacher of 8 years).

We could not have styled these two any better had we chosen their outfits and accessories ourselves. Nathan's button up and gray pants (funny fact...we're pretty sure Jason had on the exact same pants while photographing this shoot) meshed perfectly with Kendall's phenomenal blush gown. The flattering cut and flowing fabric made this dress a perfect choice for a spring engagement and combined flawlessly with Kendall's touches of gold in her jewelry.

We truly enjoyed spending the evening with these two and getting to know them better, and we cannot wait for their wedding this June. We are so excited to share the memories created with these lovebirds, and we invite you to explore the gardens with us through this elegant engagement.

The Cove Park Engagement - Kristina + Ben

"I find it incredibly amazing how at every sunset, the sky is a different shade. No cloud is ever in the same place. Each day is a new masterpiece. A new wonder. A new memory".- Sanober Khan

We didn't have to travel far for this couple's photos, but we love that they chose to use locations in Farragut for the backdrop of this engagement. Kristina and Ben, who were engaged in December and did have to make the journey from Illinois, wanted to have sentimental and meaningful locations, and the most important must have was the lake.

We ventured into the woods by Kristina's family home with this super active couple for some playful and romantic shots creek side. We were thrilled when they volunteered to get in the creek despite the somewhat chilly weather, so we could catch some beautiful moments of the two.

Our final planned stop took us to Cove Park, where Kristina and Ben strolled together on the sand; however, we spotted a beautiful dock on the way here and just couldn't get the image of the sun setting on the lake out of our minds, so we asked if the two were down for some additional photos. What a great decision this was! There is nothing like a sunset glimmering on the water with a gorgeous couple in the foreground!

We are super pumped to share these photos, and we can't wait for Kristina and Ben's big day at Mill and Mine in September. Enjoy these newly created memories!

Market Square & Downtown Knoxville Engagement - Megan + Cody

This perfectly sweet winter engagement took place at the location this couple's journey to Mr. and Mrs. all started. Cody actually proposed to Megan in Krutch Park near Market Square, and we were thrilled that the couple wanted to revisit such a sentimental location for these photos and reenact this moment. The city was beautifully decorated for the holidays, which we loved, but the coolest (pun intended) part of this shoot occurred when the two buckled their skates and took to the ice.

These two have already been nothing short of amazing, and we are so excited about Megan and Cody's wedding in Townsend this October. Snuggle up and welcome the warmer weather with this downtown engagement.

Grecian Goddess Bridal - Asheville Wedding Photographer

This Grecian themed inspiration shoot took place just outside of Asheville, North Carolina, nestled in the Craggy Mountains along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The classic white draped Ralph Lauren gown from Gossamer established the tone for the remainder of the styling, which included the bold golden accents. We wanted everything to appear timeless, like we could have been transported to a different era or be working with a modern day bride who wanted a vintage concept. The beautiful bouquet, created by Lisa Foster Floral Design based in Knoxville, Tennessee, added the perfect hues for an understated impact and combined flawlessly with the always quintessential greenery that evoked a Grecian vibe. We loved that the hairstylist, Amber of Willow’s Dream in Asheville, was able to incorporate the ruscus throughout the up-do to create a cohesive look. The stunning makeup, comprised of neutral tones and hints of gold in the lipstick and eye shadow, provided the glowing look and sun-kissed radiance we wanted to achieve.

The golden apple was incorporated to evoke an ancient Greek myth involving three goddesses—Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena—who rivaled to be named the most beautiful. This fiasco was said to have caused the Trojan War, as Paris, the judge appointed by Zeus, awarded Aphrodite the golden apple in return for the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen of Sparta. In addition, we wanted the bride to be immersed in the natural setting, and we chose a field for many of the images and also incorporated grapes, reminiscent of a vineyard. Additional golden accessories in the bracelet (which also reminded us of the arrow included later in the shoot in honor of the warrior goddess, Athena) and the leaf earrings added regal touches, and the smoky topaz oval ring was a true vintage item and our own family heirloom from Hungary.

This shoot was a success because we worked with amazing vendors including:

Model: Joanna Wroten | Photographers: Juicebeats Photography | Location: Craggy Mountains Asheville, NC | Dress: Shop Gossamer, White Draped Grecian Style Ralph Lauren | Hair: Amber Boyd of Willow’s Dream | Makeup: Liz Black | Floral: Lisa Foster

Old City Knoxville Engagement - Stephanie + Matt

We are flashing back to the fall with this Downtown Knoxville evening engagement with Stephanie and Matt. These two showed up styled perfectly and ready to stroll through the Old City and down Gay Street as we captured some amazing candid moments and just pure love.

Our favorite moment with these two came when we asked them to replicate the famous lift scene from Dirty Dancing, and they did not disappoint. We loved capturing not only the perfect moment of Matt lifting Stephanie into the air but also the amazing smiles and laughs that this created. We were so thrilled to share this time with this couple, and we are even more excited to share in their joy on their big day at Heartland Meadows in May. We're shouting from the rooftops (with a Sunsphere backdrop) another huge congratulations to these two!

Charming Alabama Wedding - Nikki & Brian

This wedding took us to a small town in Alabama to meet up with a couple, Nikki and Brian, who asked us to capture their engagement photos while on vacation in the Smoky Mountains (check them out at Mountainside Bride). When we pulled up, we were taken aback by the phenomenal cotton fields spanning the property and the picturesque home set back from the road. We fell in love with this couple the first time we met and were honored to photograph their wedding and reception.

Nikki booked us, unbeknownst to Brian, as a wedding day surprise for the groom. We all just meshed from our first meeting, and that level of comfort is something they really wanted replicated on their big day. Family and friends gathered pond side to see to the two share vows along the dock, and a painter sat at the back of the ceremony, painting the scene as it unfolded. We loved the incorporation of the two planting a tree together during the ceremony, a symbolic reminder of their wedding day on their gorgeous property.

Nikki shared some traditions with her sorority sisters at the reception, and the couple danced under the open sky as guests looked on from the tent full of rustic touches, personalized details, and photos of the couple. Although we're not Alabama fans (Go Vols!), we were super impressed by the groom's cake as well as the classically elegant white wedding cake adorned with gorgeous florals and the assortment of delicious cupcakes.

Nikki and Brian's day was truly special because it was held at home, and they kept everything from the decor to the bridal party to the ceremony simple but special. This couple means so much to us, and we are excited to share these memories from their intimate Alabama wedding.
